All About LifeLock
LifeLock Standard is their basic plan and is normally $9.99/month. Right now it's 10% off at $8.99/month. This includes many of the major identity protection features designed to keep your personal information private and keep you in the loop if a red flag goes up. They work to reduce public exposure of your information, remove you from pre-approved credit card mailing lists, and patrol criminal websites to make sure your information doesn’t show up there. If thieves do get ahold of your info, you’ll receive alerts through the patented LifeLock Identity Alert system by text, phone, or email with details on what information may have been compromised and what the next steps are that you should take. Even your wallet is protected should it be lost or stolen. Their identity protection agents are standing by to assist you so you don’t have to face identity theft on your own.
Their next level of protection, LifeLock Advantage, is double the cost of the Standard plan at $19.99/month, but adds some important features you may want to consider. You get an annual look at your credit report and credit score from one credit bureau, so you can review any changes and see the details of your credit history. LifeLock also monitors for fictitious identities tied to your Social Security Number and checks court records to see if your name and birthdate are being used by criminals trying to avoid prosecution. They also provide a secure online portal where you can review all of your credit card, checking and savings account activity and receive alerts when withdrawals, transfers, or large purchases are made.
For premium coverage, LifeLock Ultimate Plus uses a fine tooth comb to check and monitor all aspects of your identity, so you can be sure to know if any suspicious changes take place. At $29.99 per month, it’s a pricy option, but if you feel that you could use the extra protection, it may be worth the extra green. With the Ultimate Plus plan, LifeLock monitors your bank and retirement accounts for any changes to account holder information that may indicate a thief is on the prowl. They watch for suspicious credit inquiries and provide monthly credit score tracking from one credit bureau as well as a yearly report from all three credit bureaus. They also take the time to search popular file sharing sites to make sure your personal information isn’t being leaked. You can even get alerts when registered sex offenders move into your neighborhood. It’s all part of the peace of mind that comes with LifeLock’s top tier plan.
